1. Choose the right collar
ADAPTIL Junior is specially designed for puppies.
2. Fit it snugly
The collar needs to stay in contact with your puppy’s skin. Adjust it so it’s snug but comfortable – you should be able to fit two fingers underneath.
3. Keep it on 24/7
Your puppy can wear it all day and night. The pheromones are released continuously for round-the-clock comfort.
4. Remove only for bathing or swimming
Water can reduce its effectiveness, so take it off for baths, swimming or grooming.
5. Replace every 4 weeks
Each collar lasts up to 4 weeks. For best results, use during the first 6 months of your puppy’s life. It can be used for longer if your puppy needs extra support, with no negatives to longer-term use. You can also move to the adult ADAPTIL Calm Collar if your puppy needs a different size.

How should I use ADAPTIL Junior?

The ADAPTIL Junior Collar should be fitted snugly on your dog's neck to ensure proper functioning.

After removing from the packaging, place a finger in the plastic loop situated on the inside of the collar close to the buckle
Using this loop pull to uncoil the collar
Feed the end through the buckle
Place over your puppy’s head
Tighten the collar to fit snugly with your puppy’s skin
You should be able to place no more than 2 fingers between the collar and your puppy’s skin
Ensure the collar is secure
Cut off any excess portion of the collar
When ADAPTIL Junior comes in contact with the skin, your puppy’s body temperature warms the collar resulting in the diffusion of “appeasing messages” into the local environment
The collar should remain on your puppy at all times (except when using shampoo).

What size ADAPTIL Junior Collar do I need?

ADAPTIL Junior is one size and recommended for puppies up to 15 kg (6 months of age depending on breed).

If you need a bigger collar, take a look at ADAPTIL Calm Collar size M/L as this maybe more suitable to the size of your dog. It works in the same way and provides the same support.

How long does the ADAPTIL Junior collar work for?

One Junior collar lasts 30 days. It is recommended to replace the collar every 4 weeks, to ensure continuous support to your puppy during their socialisation period and whilst they are learning about the world around them, until they are 6 months old.

How fast will ADAPTIL Junior work?

ADAPTIL Junior will start to work immediately upon being fitted to your puppy. Remember to adjust the collar to make sure it is fitted properly.

Regularly check that the collar remains snug to your puppy's skin (but not too tight as your puppy grows) to ensure a proper fit (if the collar is too loose, it will not be warmed enough by the body heat).

Can ADAPTIL Junior be used intermittently?

Do not remove the collar, except for during bathing when you are using shampoo or if they are swimming in chlorinated water.

Leave the collar on 24 hours a day. Efficacy is proven in clinical trials with continuous use of the collar (24 hours a day) allowing the puppy to constantly perceive the “appeasing messages” from the collar.

Once the collar is out of the box and the packet opened it has a 30 day life span. It is beneficial to keep it on your dog at all times and not remove it during these 30 days.

Will ADAPTIL Junior work for short and long haired puppies?

The diffusion of the “appeasing messages” has been tested on 70 dogs with various hair lengths: short, medium and long.

Hair length has no impact on diffusion as long as the ADAPTIL Junior Collarr is properly fitted.

Can ADAPTIL Junior Collar be recycled?

The collar is not made of recyclable plastic material.

How does the ADAPTIL Junior Collar work?

Mother dogs communicate with their puppies using natural “appeasing messages” released from their mammary area. These "appeasing messages“ are scientifically called Dog Appeasing Pheromones. They are odourless and are only perceived by dogs.

When shouldn't I use ADAPTIL Junior?

You shouldn't use ADAPTIL Junior in the following situations:

If your puppy does not receive proper training and has issues with hyperactivity or over-excitement, ADAPTIL Junior will not help.
If your puppy does not receive proper socialisation, ADAPTIL Junior will not help.
If your puppy is soiling the house due to lack of toilet training, or due to medical reasons, ADAPTIL Junior will not help. It is important to consult a vet to rule out potential medical issues.
ADAPTIL Junior will not help and should never be used in cases of aggression towards humans or other dogs. In such situations, we strongly recommend to consult your vet or an accredited behaviourist.
